CANDELARIA R. "CANDE" VELASQUEZ

MCALLEN - Candelaria R. "Cande" Velasquez, 95, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in McAllen surrounded by her family. Born in Laredo, Texas and formerly of Brighton, Colorado she had lived in McAllen for the past 30 years. Mrs. Velasquez was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Velasquez Sr.; her parents, Juan and Basilia Ramos; her two brothers, Domingo, and Gregorio Ramos; four sisters, Juana Sandoval, Guadalupe Sandoval, Antonia Ramirez, and Gloria Sanchez; two sons-in-law, Juan Lopez, and Joaquin Hernandez Sr.

Mrs. Velasquez is survived by her seven children, Maria T. Lopez, Juan Velasquez Jr., Olga (Marcos) Lopez, Guadalupe Hernandez, Pedro (Norma) Velasquez, Manuel (Martha) Velasquez, and Daniel (Lucy) Velasquez; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vicente Ramos, and Juan Ramos Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2018 at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
