Lupito (that's what I always called him) was a very caring and gentle soul. He was my cousin - his mother was my mother's sister. Both his family and ours were born and raised in Edinburg, but in the late 1940's, our family left the Valley to start a life of migrant workers in the Pacific Northwest.
Although we were thousands of miles apart, we always returned every few years to visit our 'parientes' in Edinburg. When we arrived there, the first one that alway showed up to welcome us was our cousin, Lupito and his brother Luisito. On the days that we spent in El Valle, Lupito would always take us (my 4 sisters and I) to breakfast and sometimes to Las Flores for a Margarita and shopping.
His passing hit a nostalgic chord in my heart. May he rest in peace and the Lord welcome his soul to his Mansion. qLG2T
