Obituary of Oscar Longoria Trevino

Edinburg- Oscar Longoria Trevino, 79, born on February 12, 1934, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 surrounded by his loving family as he succumbed to his battle with Parkinson's. He is preceded in death by his son Robert, his parents Enrique and Natalia Trevino, and his sister Rosabel Lerma. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dora Lopez Trevino, his children, Oscar (Carla), Benjamin, Enrique (Katie), Terry, Clarissa, Jaime (Roxanne), Letty and J.J. He also leaves behind his sister Estela Trigo, 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Oscar was a 1953 graduate of Edinburg High School and attended Texas A&M College. He was a member of the Corps Cadets, and proudly served in the Texas Army National Guard. Additionally, he served on the Edinburg City Council. In 1955 he opened his first Trevino's Food Store and operated seven locations before selling in 1993. He later completed his career as a Real Estate Appraiser.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2013 between the five o'clock and nine o'clock in the evening at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. A rosary will take place at seven o'clock in the evening and will be available online at www.legacychapelsrgv.com.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ten o'clock in the morning on Friday, September 13, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Full Military honors under the auspices of VFW Post 8788 of McAllen, Texas.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
