Obituary of Sofia Hernandez

SOFIA HERNANDEZ

EDINBURG - Sofia Hernandez, 72, went to be with our Lord, Monday, August 20, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Irapuato, Gto., Mexico she had lived in Edinburg for the past 17 years. Mrs Hernandez is preceded in death by a grandson, Alejandro Hernandez Jr.,; her parents, Froilan and Leonarda Silva; four sisters, Guadalupe, Mikaela, Juana, and Rosa Silva; four brothers, Margarito, Pio, Faustino, and Patricio Silva; her son-in-law, Manuel Paez.

Mrs. Hernandez is survived by her husband, Juan Hernandez; seven children, Alejandro (Yolanda) Hernandez, Jose Juan (Estela) Hernandez, Sofia (Rosendo) Benavides, Luis (Cecilia) Hernandez, Hector (Elda) Hernandez, Ma. Victoria Paez, and Yessica (Jose Luis) Reyes; 22 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Christian Life Church, 321 North M Street in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
