Edinburg- Guadalupe "Lupita" Salinas, born June 24, 1933 in Edinburg, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Briarcliff Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McAllen, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Leoncio Salinas, mother Andrea Gutierrez, sister Carmen Barraza, and a brother Justo Gonzalez. Survivors include her companion, Ignacio Torres of Edinburg; her children; Linda Sanchez of McAllen, Carmen Zamora (Cesar) of Edinburg and Ester Salinas (Joe Avila) of Edinburg. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren. Family will receive friends today, August 20th 2013 between the hours of five o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock in the evening at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd., in Edinburg. A rosary will take place at seven o'clock and will be available online at www.legacychapelsrgv.com Funeral Services will be at ten o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, August 21st 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
