Obituary of Antonio "Tony" Tovar

ANTONIO "TONY" TOVAR

MCALLEN - Antonio "Tony" Tovar, 65, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at his residence in McAllen surrounded by his family. Born in Tula, Tamps., Mexico he had lived in McAllen for the past 50 years. Mr. Tovar is preceded in death by his son, Martin Tovar Vallejo; parents, Martin and Maria Del Carmen Rodriguez Tovar; two brothers, Jose Manuel and Ramon Garcia; two sisters, Juana Tovar and Maria Elena Garcia Aguirre. 

Mr Tovar is survived by his wife, Maria Mercedes Tovar; two children, Gilberto Antonio Tovar Valle and Maria Del Carmen Tovar Valle; his granddaughter, Itzamari Mercedes Tovar Valle; six siblings, Juana Maria Garcia, Maria Sofia Garcia, Esperanza Garcia, Jose Garcia, Porfirio Garcia and Juan Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Monday, June 25, 2018 at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. 

Funeal services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
