Obituary of Tomasa Tovar

TOMASA TOVAR

MISSION - Tomasa Tovar, 93, went to be with our Lord, Friday, April 27, 2018, in Austin, Texas, surrounded by her family. Born in Kosse, Texas she had lived in Mission most of her life. Mrs. Tovar is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel De Jesus Tovar; her parents, Jesus and Petra Olvera; her four brothers, Esteban, Jesus, Moises, and Eraclio Olvera; her three sisters, Froila, Juanita, and Conrada Olvera.

Mrs. Tovar is survived by her eight children, Elias (Noelia) Tovar, Manuel De Jesus (Dora) Tovar, Eloisa (Rev. Faustino) Garza, Petra (Antonio) Negron, Eulalio Tovar, Griselda (Juan) Rios, Ruth Tovar, and Edith Tovar;  27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson; a brother, Jonas (Ercilia) Olvera; a sister, Alicia (Luis) Adame; numerous nieces, nephews many friends. 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Rd., in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
