Obituary of Michael Eric "Mike" Mendoza

MICHAEL ERIC "MIKE" MENDOZA

EDINBURG - Michael Eric "Mike" Mendoza, 39, gained his wings on April 9, 2018, in Houston surrounded by his loving mother. Born in Edinburg, on October Friday 13th, 1978, to Elda Gonzalez and Casimiro "KC" Mendoza, Mike attended Edinburg High School, was a true Bobcat, and graduated Class of 1997. He enjoyed playing football, track, and excelled in baseball. Mike was a very charismatic, loving, joyful, witty, and caring individual and lived life to the fullest. Mike will be missed and loved by all who knew him.

Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Melo and Raquel Gonzalez; paternal grandparents, Juan and Tommie S. Mendoza; his uncle, Leopoldo Mendoza.

Mike is survived by, the Love of his Life, his daughter, Lyla Sage; his parents, his brother, Casey J. (Cassie) Mendoza; two nephews, Jace and Luke Mendoza; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, and from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. rosary, Friday April 13, 2018, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd., in Edinburg.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 215 North 16th Ave, in Edinburg. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Mike's GoFund account.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
