Obituary of Jose Reynaldo Pompa
JOSE R. POMPA
Jose R. Pompa, 93, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, March 26, 2018, in Edinburg surrounded by his family. Born in Mission, Jose had lived in McAllen most of his life. Mr. Pompa is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Antonia Pompa; two brothers, Eliseo and Clemente Pompa.
Mr. Pompa proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a WWII Veteran. Jose loved to play baseball and was a member of the Mission 30/30 team. His favorite past time was spending time with family, fishing, Texas Lotto scratch offs, and barbecuing.
Mr. Pompa will be dearly missed by his wife, Ofelia G. Pompa; seven children, Albert (Elva) Garza, Jose A. (Patty) Pompa, Anna A. Pompa, Alma P. (Billy) Barnhouse, Norma P. Garza, Carla P. (Jerry) Lopez, and Santiago "Jimmy" (Selene) Pompa; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Celebration of Life Service, followed by a 7 p.m. rosary, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission with full military honors.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
