Obituary of Joe Lara Jr.

JOE LARA JR

EDINBURG - Joe Lara Jr., 44, went to be with our Lord, Thursday January 25, 2018, in Edinburg surrounded by his family. Born in Plainview, Texas, he had lived in Edinburg most of his life. Mr. Lara is preceded in death by his father, Joe Lara Sr.; a sister, Sandra Lara Spight; a nephew, Christian Spight.

Mr. Lara is survived by his wife, Nancy V. Lara; seven children, Daniela Lara, Angel Lara, Alexia Lara, Delilah Lara, Michael A. Rivas, Fabian H. Rivas, and Micaela F. Rivas; his mother, Maria Teresa Mungia; a brother, Rene Garcia; a sister, Debbie Escobedo; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Sunday, January  28, 2018, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2018, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
