BENITO F. "BEN" GUTIERREZ

EDINBURG - Benito F. "Ben" Gutierrez, 68, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, January 21, 2018, in Edinburg surrounded by his family. Mr. Gutierrez is preceded in death by his daughter, Irma Linda Gutierrez; parents, Andres and Lorenza Gutierrez; two brothers, Francisco and Ramon Gutierrez; two sisters, Patricia Gomez and Antonia Cisneros.

Ben was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. He was a hard worker and retired in September 2010 from MVEC due to illness. Ben enjoyed being around his grandchildren, listening to music, hunting, fishing, and eating "Pan Dulce" and drinking Coke. His sense of humor and company will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Benito is survived by his wife, Graciela S. Gutierrez; two sons, Benito "JJ" Gutierrez and Michael (Celina) Garza; two daughters, Priscilla (Beto) Maldonado and Yvette Perez; three grandchildren; two brothers, Andres Gutierrez, Jr. and David (Esmeralda) Gutierrez; five sisters, Margarita Lopez, Maria (Israel) Peña, Ana (Hilario) Garcia, Alicia (David) Duarte, Janie (Gilberto) Peña; numeorus nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9 am with a 12 noon Chapel service on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission with full military honors.
