Edinburg - Osbaldo "Baldo" Huizar, passed away on February 15, 2014 in Edinburg, Texas. He was born on January 18, 1928 to Dolores and Eusebia Huizar in Jourdanton, Texas.
Baldo is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Cresencia "Chita" Huizar; brothers: Mercedes, Luciano, Jesus Sr., Raul; and a sister, Corina Hernandez.
He is survived by his children, Waldo (Tammi) Huizar of Corpus Christi, TX; Rhonda Albee of Alamo, Gracie Huizar of Edinburg, and Benita (Erik) Pinkston of Edinburg. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Genaro Huizar; and sisters, Macrina Romero, Eduvina Madrid, Maria Diamantina Rodriguez and Alvina Almazan and numerous nieces and nephews.
Baldo was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg where he served as an usher. He also served with Valley Interfaith. He loved animals and was constantly outside working in the yard as well as "tinkering" around the house. Although he was a quiet man, Baldo loved to sing at the top of his lungs. He was a joker and loved to laugh.
He is now reunited with his one true love, his soul mate, his wife Chita.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary beginning at 7:00pm at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jesse Rodriguez, Rogelio Huizar, Pedro Huizar, Jamie Huizar, Rogelio Garza, Rumaldo Garces and Ryan Garces. Honarary Pallbearers will be Julian Huizar, Jesus Huizar, Jr., James Keeler, Javier Alvarez and Richard Hernandez.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
