Obituary of Tommy D Davis

McAllen, Texas

Tommy D. Davis was born on December 23, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas to Victor and Willie Mae Davis. Tom, as he was lovingly known to many, passed away peacfully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, Ocotber 24, 2017 at the age of 87 years. He was a resident of Corsicana,Texas up till 1960 when he moved to McAllen/Pharr. Tom, at the age of 12 years old started driving over the road in the wheat harvest and at age 18 bought his very first truck and in 1963 he opened Davis Truck Brokers and retired in 2016. Mr Davis was a very hard working man never knew a stranger and was always there to lend a helping hand. He loved race horses and deer hunting and music. He played frequently with his band Tom Davis and the Country Boys at the Riverside Club in Mission. 

Tom lived his life to its fullest. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of his family and those that came to know him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother Jackie Davis, a brother Jerry Davis Sr. and a grandson Jerry W. Davis.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving family; wife Carol L. Davis, daughter Vickie Mareck (Robert), daughter Shannon S. Ozuna (Pete), Step Daughter Angela J. Patterson (MIchael) son Tommy Davis Jr. (Barbara), son Thomas D. Davis (Melissa), son Clint W. Davis (Tsninia), son Frank M. Davis,  brother Bobby Ray Davis, 21 grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, 15 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous of nieces and nephews.

The Davis family will receive friends and family on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Legacy Chapels from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Celebration of Life service at 6:00 pm

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
