ETHEL R. REINER EDINBURG - Ethel R. Reiner, 83, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, September 14, 2017, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Born in Dallas County, Alabama, she had lived in Edinburg for the past 36 years. Mrs. Reiner is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Reiner (married 19 years, they moved to the Valley in 1981); a daughter, Deborah Stephens; a son, John David Stephens; a grandson, Stephen M. Scott;her parents, Leslie and Alice Pugh. Mrs. Reiner is survived by her three children; Patricia Bross, Greg Stephens, and Leslie Stephens; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; former first husband, John Stephens. John and Ethel met in high school in Mobile Alabama: married 18 years (1953-1971): After both losing their spouses they reconnected and have been cohabitating in Edinburg since 2001. Ethel was an avid plant/flower lover. She had a beautiful yard that she enjoyed caring for throughout her life. She was a collector of a myriad of things. Creativity and constant ideas of using items in incredible ways were one of her favorite things to do. She will be deeply missed by everyone who really knew her and enjoyed her strong, outgoing personality and devious sense of humor. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017, at Cypress Mill Cemetery in Blanco, Texas. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
