Obituary of Santos Flores

SANTOS FLORES SR. EDINBURG - Mr. Santos Flores Sr. ,83, went to be with our Lord on Thursday September 7, 2017, surrounded by his family in Edinburg. He was born on October 2, 1933, in Mission, Texas to Francisco and Clara Flores. Santos was a life long resident of Edinburg, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Edinburg where he served as an usher at the 10:30 a.m. mass for over 60 years. Mr. Flores, was a self employed truck driver for most of his life. A devoted husband and father he will be dearly missed by his family and those that came to know him. Mr. Flores is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Antonio and Francisco Flores. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 55 years, Severa R. Flores of Edinburg; his children: Santos Flores Jr., Sylvia Flores, Frank Flores, Cynthia (Leonel III) Guerra, David Flores, and Richard (Jeanette) Flores; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Soccoro F. Banda, Alicia Montemayor, and Abel Flores. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday September 8, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday September 9, 2017, at at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg with Fr. Kumar officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be; Richard Flores, David Flores, Marcos Flores, Santos Flores III, Frank Flores, and Andrew Flores. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
