Obituary of Guadalupe Cantu

PHARR - Mrs. Guadalupe Villalobos Cantu,89, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at her residence in Pharr surrounded by her family. Mrs. Cantu was born in Mercedes, Texas, on January 2, 1928, to Geronimo and Modesta Villalobos and was a resident of Pharr for most of her life. Mrs. Cantu worked at McAllen Medical Center's kitchen for more than 40 years. Guadalupe was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and lived her life to the fullest. Mrs. Cantu is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Baldemar Cantu; siblings: Antonio Villalobos, Matias Villalobos, Tomas Villalobos, and Sotero Villalobos. Left to cherish her memory are three siblings: Angelina Garza ,Modesta Villalobos, and Antonio Villalobos; numerous loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. celebration of life service Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
