Obituary of Norberta Garza

NORBERTA "BERT" GARZA EDINBURG - Norberta "Bert" Garza, 65, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Born in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico she had lived in Edinburg most of her life. Ms. Garza is preceded in death by her father, Francisco Garza. Norberta was a retired Paraprofessional with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District with over 30 years of service. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with family and friends. Ms. Garza is survived by her three children: Marissa (Lino) Sanchez, Yvette G. (Juan) Adriano and Rogelio "Roy" Sanchez; mother, Zaragoza Garza; seven grandchildren; six brothers: Jesse Garza, Joe Garza, Mario Garza, Leonardo Garza, Roberto Garza and Noe Garza; four sisters: Blanca De Leon, Mandy Garza, Carmen Garza and Nora De Leon; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
