Obituary of Carlos Cantu

CARLOS "CALITO" CANTU EDINBURG - Carlos "Calito" Cantu, 79, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, June 25, 2017, in Edinburg surrounded by his family. Mr. Cantu was born in General Bravo, N.L., Mexico he had lived in Edinburg for the past 29 years. Mr. Cantu is preceded in death by his parents, Cayetano and Romanita Cantu; five brothers, Zaragoza, Guadalupe, Julian, Antonio and Cayetano Cantu; three sisters, Laurentina Garza, Ramona Mireles and Maria De Atoche Alaniz. Apa te fuistes sin desir adios nos dejastes un vasio enorme. Jamas te olvidaremos eras sensillo, humilde un gran hijo, esposo, tio, hermano y sobre todo un gran padre despues de varios batallas que tuvistes, se llego el dia de desirte adios. Pensabamos que ese dia nunca se llegaria y cuando menos lo esperavamos te nos fuistes, antes de celebrar tu dia, para festejar con los tuyos. Siempre te extranaremos, tus risas, tus repelidos y viendote bailar o jugando baraja que era lo que mas te gustava a ser. Jr., La Chaparra, El Prieto, La Negra y La Romy. Mr. Cantu is survived by his wife,Virginia Cantu; six children: Carlos (Leonor) Cantu, Jr., Mary Ellen (Moises) Salinas, Jose Alfredo (Maribel) Cantu, Cipriano Cantu, Sandra (Jesus) Magana and Maria Romanita (Edgar) Tamez; 25 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Consuelo and Alicia Cantu and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
