Donna, Texas Maria Cruz C. Torres passed away on Saturday May 20, 2017 at the age of 69 yrs. at the Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. Maria was born on Sept. 13, 1947 in Valle Hermoso, Mexico to Pablo and Petra Cerda. She lived in Donna all of her life. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. She was preceded in death her father and a sister Antonia Cerda. Maria is survived by her husband Candelario, her children- Sylvia, Epigmenio, Pablo, Efren, Ector, and Elisa Torres; her brothers and sisters-Jose, Roque, Florencia, Maria, Guillermo, Rosalinda Cerda and 22 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Also her mother Petra Lozano Cerda. Visitation will be on Tuesday May 23, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Legacy Chapels,4610 S. Jackson, in Edinburg with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday May 24, 2017 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Chapel services with be at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow to Val Verde Memorial Gardens cemetery in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
