ALFONSO GONZALEZ EDINBURG - Alfonso Gonzalez, 88, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Edinburg surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Cerralvo, N.L., Mexico Mr. Gonzalez had lived in the Rio Grande Valley are for the past 26 years. Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by a son, Efrain Alfonso Gonzalez; his parents, Jesus and Dolores Gonzalez; seven brothers and sisters. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife, Maria Esthela Gonzalez; two daughters, Mirna Araceli Gonzalez and Isela (Gabriel) Arteaga; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucinda Gonzalez; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
