Obituary of Eladio Torres

Edinburg, Texas Eladio "Laco" Torres went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 19, 2017 surrounded by his family at the age of 74. Laco, as he was known by many, was born Nov. 12, 1942. He was a life long resident of Edinburg and was a member of the Holy Family Church. Laco worked as a Field Counselor for TEC and the Manpower Program for more than twenty years. He was very supportive of his community and very active in politics. He was a business owner and operator of his beloved Tijuana Fruits and Vegetables store in Edinburg. He will be dearly missed by his family and those that came to know him. He was preceded in death by his son Ronnie Torres. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years Evangelina "Eva" Torres; sons Romeo ( Maribel ) Torres and Johnny ( Nora ) Torres; daughter in law Pat Torres ( + Ronnie ); His mother Isabel Gonzalez, his sisters- Ana Maria Vento, Ramona Medina, Gabriela Hendrix, and Emma Gonzalez. Also seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at Legacy Chapels,4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg from 5:00 pm to 9:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be on Wednesday March 22, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Holy Family Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park cemetery in Edinburg. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
