Ramon Garza, born on November 25th 1925, passed away suddenly and unexpected on February 25th 2013 in San Marcos, Texas. He was a 20 year Veteran, having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Garza resided in Philadelphia, PA where he worked and retired from the United States Postal Service. He spent most of his life in Philadelphia before returning to Texas to be with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father Juan Garza, mother Maria de Jesus Vela, brothers Cayetano, Gilberto, Jesus and Santiago and sister Guadalupe. He is survived by his sister Maria Luisa Garza of Austin, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends today, February 27th 2013, at eleven o'clock in the morning at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Rd, Edinburg, TX. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at two o'clock in the afternoon at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen with full military honor under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg, Texas.
