LEONOR LYDIA VELA LAPIDES
EDINBURG - Leonor Lydia Vela Lapides, 66, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, January 3, 2017, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliot Lapides; her parents, Pablo and Maria R. Vela; a sister Virginia Vela; a nephew Louie Trevino.
Mrs. Lapides is survived by her children, Stephani Lapides, David Lapides, Chellee (Eric) Matthews; 2 grandchildren; a sister, Nora (Johnny) Trevino; three brothers, Pablo (Ester) Vela, Humberto (Beatrice) Vela and Armando (Nelda) Vela; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
