Obituary of Rogelio Montemayor

ROGELIO SIERRA MONTEMAYOR EDINBURG - Rogelio Sierra Montemayor, 83, went to be with his Creator, Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Sugar Land, Texas surrounded by his family. Born in Mercedes, Mr. Montemayor had lived in Houston and Richmond area most of his life. Rogelio was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Montemayor was preceded in death by his parents, Isidro and Maria Sierra Montemayor; a brother, Gabino Montemayor. Mr. Montemayor is survived by his wife, Delfina E. Montemayor; his children, Delma and husband Sam Buentello and Edna Segura; seven grandchildren, Marisa, Enrique Jr., Alexis, Bianca, Andrew, Carlos and Athena; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Julian, Hailey, Zavian and Shore; a brother, Richard Montemayor; a sister, Libby Escobar; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved pet, "Pepe". Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life Service Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg with full military honors. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
