IRMA F. CALIFA MCALLEN - Irma F. Califa, 89, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, November 10, 2016, in McAllen surrounded by her family. Born in Cuevitas, Texas she lived in McAllen most of her life. Mrs. Califa is preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Califa; her parents, Guillermo and Guadalupe Flores; three sisters, Alicia F. Jimenez, Otila F. Hinojosa, Gloria F. Randal. Mrs. Califa is survived by her children, Sydia Califa Duran, Vickie (Frank) Pardo, Clarissa (Jeff) Rotunno, Joe A. (Nydia) Califa, Sam (Betty) Califa; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Guillermo "Willie" Flores; four sisters, Elma F. Cavazos, Rebecca Arriaga, Ruby Van Ramshorst, Nelda Kiesewetter-Hearn. Irma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed family traditions, sewing, gardening, cooking, and playing cards with her family. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
