Obituary of Ernestina Gonzalez

ERNESTINA "ELVIRA" GONZALEZ Ernestina "Elvira" Gonzalez, 62, entered eternal rest Thursday, September 8, 2016, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Born in Pharr she had lived in Harlingen for over 40 years before moving to Edinburg. Mrs Gonzalez is preceded in death by her mother, Esperanza Gutierrez. Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband, Francisco "Frank" Gonzalez; two sons, Frank "Frankie" (Myra) Gonzalez and Joaquin Gonzalez; two granddaughters, Olivia and Juliana; a sister, Enedelia (Carlos) Vela. Elvira was a devoted Christian since accepting Christ into her heart at the early age of 11. Never wavering she was an inspiration to her family. Surrounded by Angels always, her favorite hobby was collecting angels. Angels by the hundreds decorate her home. Her love of family and family values will continue to be an inspiration for her family, her spirit will always be felt by her loved ones. Family will receive friends at 7 p.m. for a "Celebration of Life service" Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
