MARIA DOLORES "LOLITA" CHAVEZ
MISSION - Maria Dolores "Lolita" Chavez, 76, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, September 3, 2016, in McAllen surrounded by her family. Born in Montemorelos, N.L., Mexico and formerly of McAllen she had lived in Mission for the past five years. Mrs. Chavez is preceded in death by a grandchild, Janelle R. Puente; her parents, Eleuterio Rodriguez and Jacinta Salazar; two brothers, Santos and Arcadio Alanis.
Mrs. Chavez is survived by her husband of 54 years, Alberto A. Chavez; five children, Albert (Gloria) Chavez, Janie (Rolando) Puente, Sandra (Alex) Ochoa, Joel (Darcy) Chavez and Marco A. (Norma) Chavez; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Emerico Alanis; a sister, Matilde Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, September 5, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
