MARIA BELEN HINOJOSA GARCIA DONNA - Maria Belen Hinojosa Garcia, 79, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, August 17, 2016, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Born in Mission she had lived in Donna most of her life. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Garcia; her parents, Jose and Maria Hinojosa; a sister, Flor Estela Hinojosa. Maria enjoyed cooking, knitting, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Her quick wit and originality often brought many laughs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband, Narciso Garcia; seven children, Xavier (Melissa) Garcia, Rolando (Bertha) Garcia, Carlos (Valerie) Garcia, Rosalva (Joel) Vela, Nelda (Alfredo) Del Barrio, Irma (Cesar) Vela and Lisa Yvette (Jesse) Guajardo; 18 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; four brothers, Jesus, Jose, Felix and Arturo Hinojosa; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
