Obituary of Fernando Tijerina

Fernando Tijerina, 63, went to be with our Lord Monday, April 18, 2016, surrounded by friends and family. He was a kind, respectable man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly. Mr. Tijerina was born in Mexico and had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Otila Tijerina; and his sister, Hermina Navarro. Fernando is survived by his wife, Rosita Tijerina; four children, Fernando (Isabel) Tijerina, Veronica (Arturo) Garza, Daniela (Russel Benner) Tijerina-Benner and Jose Luis (Ivanna) Tijerina; five grandchildren, Andria Alicia Tijerina, Fernando Tijerina, III, Billy Evan Tijerina, Sawyer Garza and Tanner Garza; his father, Domingo Tijerina, Sr.; six siblings, Domingo Tijerina, Jr., Rolando (Maria Del Carmen) Tijerina, Margarita Trejo, Efrain Tijerina, Evangelina Rodriguez and Javier (Enedelia) Tijerina. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd., Edinburg. Funeral mass will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels of Edinburg.
