GUADALUPE "EL CHULO" MARTINEZ
SAN JUAN - Guadalupe "El Chulo" Martinez, 70, went to be with our Lord Thursday, January 28, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in General Teran, N.L., Mexico and formerly of Reynosa, Tamps., Mexico he had lived in San Juan for the past 20 years. Mr. Martinez enjoyed playing the Accordian and singing. Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Eufemia Martienz; six sisters, Otila, Orfelinda, Esperanza, Altagracia, Aurora and Vicenta Savedra; four brothers; Antonio Savedra, Justo Savedra, Gilberto Hernandez.
Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife of 51 years, Flor E. Martinez; six children; Agristela (Manuel) Romero, Adalberto (Gloria) Martinez, Maria Guadalupe (Jesus) Hernandez, Maria Del Lourdes (Francisco) Fuentes, Sara (Alfredo) Camacho, Abisai (Claudia) Martinez; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Dominga Savedra; two brothers, Jesus Prado and Federico Balboa; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9am to 6pm with a 4pm prayer service Friday, January 29, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 3pm Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
