Obituary of Jannie Marie Varela

Jannie Marie Varela Weslaco – Jannie Marie Varela, 72, entered eternal rest Monday, June 27, 2022, in Weslaco, Texas surrounded by her family. Mrs. Varela was preceded in death by her eldest daughter; Frances Segura, Grandparents; Jose Rodriguez Sr. and Juana Rebulloso; Salvador Cavazos and Andrea Cavazos; Parents; Jesus Rodriguez Sr. and Ramona Cavazos Rodriguez, Siblings; Jesus (Rock) Rodriguez Jr., Roberto Rodriguez, and Maria De Jesus Rodriguez. Granddaughters; Lexi and Lesli. Jannie Varela was born June 5, 1950, in Bowling Green, Ohio. She loved spending time with her husband, and grandchildren. Over the years Mrs. Varela worked in the healthcare industry and was compassionate to those in her care. In her free time, she was an avid tv watcher and loved watching all the classics. Mrs. Varela loved to walk and loved to explore. Her adventurous life was lived on her terms. You could count on her to make you smile during difficult moments. Her resilience to life is an example of finding strength in adversity. “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” Thessalonians 4:13-14 Mrs. Jannie Varela is survived by her husband, Virgilio Varela; daughters, Tracy Segura, Maria Gonzalez (Jose) son LeRoy Segura (Dora) and her siblings; Maria Rodriguez, Alicia Castillo, Gloria Villanueva, Imelda Villareal, Adelfa Garza and Ramon Gonzalez. Grandchildren; Jacob, Reina, Joshua, Justine, Alejandra, Esperanza, Amaris, Andrea, David and Josh. She has many nephews and nieces.
