Edward "Gene" Cain
West Liberty, IA - Edward "Gene" Cain, 87, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, November 14, 2015, in McAllen surrounded by his family. Born in Cedar, Iowa he had lived in West Liberty most of his life. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion Post 509 in West Liberty, Iowa. Mr. Cain retired from the H.J. Heinz Company after 20 years of faithful service. He enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and traveling to Texas for the winter season. He is preceded in death by a son Mark Cain; his parents, Edward and Clara Cain; a brother, Donald Cain; a daughter-in-law, Diane Cain
Mr. Cain is survived by his wife Phyllis Cain; four sons, Randy (Dixie) Cain, Ron Cain, Terry Cain and Billy (Connie) Cain; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a niece Allison Cain.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg, Texas.
