Obituary of Dathan Jeremiah Perez

DATHAN JEREMIAH PEREZ MCALLEN - Dathan Jeremiah Perez, 17, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in McAllen. Dathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pascuala Quezada; his uncle, Francisco J. Quezada. Jeremiah was many things to many people. A friend to the friendless, a lover to the loveless, an enemy to the enemy-less. He was a nomad, a traveling man, moving from town to town, family to family. He lived in Palmview, Port Arthur, Phoenix, Indianapolis, Denton and ended his travels here in McAllen. Throughout his journey he met and touched the heart of many people he once knew as friends. He was charming, he was charismatic, he was troubled. He was compassionate, he was tender-hearted, and he was upside-down. He had the most polite and kindest smile that would just make you feel good about yourself, make you feel a little warm on the inside and that same smile could also drive you mad when he got the upper hand against you, like beating you at a game or successfully tricking you. He liked to trick people, that's how he’d get his way. He was a talented person. An explorer, an adventurer, not satisfied with not having tried something- anything. He was a great skateboarder, a naturally talented tennis player, a mediocre video gamer, and a lousy reader. He was a loyal friend, a kind stranger, and so cool he didn’t even realize it. We will miss him dearly. Mr. Perez is survived by his parents, Sandra Quezada (Ramiro Farias) and Adan Perez Jr. (Maricela Anzaldua); three siblings, Giovanni I. (Emily Ann) Perez, Nathaniel J. Perez, and Lexan Z. Perez; paternal grandparents, Adan and Rosalinda Perez; maternal grandfather, Jose Abel Quezada; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. We love you Jeremiah “Jerms” Perez Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a 5 p.m. prayer service, Friday, April 29, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
