Obituary of Hernan Garza

HERNAN GARZA Hernan Garza, 61 passed away on Tuesday,, September 11, 2012 at McAllen Heart Hospital. He fought the good fight of faith till the very end. He has now peacefully entered into his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a believer who spent many nights reading the Word of God to find comfort, strength, mercy, peace and grace. He was an outdoors man at heart, spent much of his life hunting and fishing enjoying the quiet and beauty of God's great landscapes. He was a grill master, BBQing for family and friends alike—his brisket was matchless, though his son's comes close. A stranger to none, a friend to all, he lived life with a smile on his face and a good line, observation or saying on his lips to make everyone laugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, Humberto David and Josefa G. Garza, and his uncle Joe Garza. He is loved beyond measure and will be dearly missed by his wife, Esperanza Montemayor Garza; son, Saul H. Garza; daughter Dayanara A. Garza; sister, Maria Flora Saenz; brother Gumaro Garza, M.D.; family and friends, including his beloved granddaughter of the four-legged kind Karina Garza. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 9pm, with a 7pm prayer service, Today, Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd. (956) 618-5900, in Edinburg. A Live webcast of the prayer service will be available at www.legacychapelsrgv.com. Funeral service will be at 10am, Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Pallbearers will be Homero Garza Jr., Ruben Garza, Erik David Garza, Jose Luis Montemayor, Mauricio Aldo Trevino, Rafael "Fayo" Ojeda and Felipe Alejandro Perez.
