Obituary of Robert Harrison Knowles

ROBERT HARRISON KNOWLES MISSION- On April 3, 2022, Robert H. Knowles, 82, of Mission Texas, left this earth to be with his beloved wife, Beverly, of 65 years. In a stroke of tragic sweetness, Robert passed within a few weeks of her, ending a true love story. Robert was a gifted salesman and a brilliant entrepreneur. He spent his entire working life in the shoe business. He began his career as a shoe salesman and became the owner of his own brand, Sunset Strip Shoes. Robert lived a life of service to others; he was a military police officer in the US Army. He volunteered at the Rio Grande Valley Hospital and was a volunteer umpire for the Senior Texan Softball League. Throughout his life, Robert enjoyed many passions-fast cars, a deep love and admiration of dogs, watching baseball and playing cards. Each of his children were blessed with his love of music; Robert truly enjoyed sharing new and intriguing music, sparking their interest in an ever-widening variety of styles and genres. Robert is survived by his three children, Barbara L. Brooks, Lance H. Knowles and Kimberly K. Heberlein. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Humane Society of the United States at humanesociety.org or to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org . Funeral service are under the direction of Legacy Chapels.
