MARTINA MARTINEZ MISSION- Martina Martinez, 56, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Mission surrounded by her family. Martina Martinez was preceded in death by her son, Maclovio (Mackey) Rios; parents, Roberto and Marcelina Martinez; sister, Rosa Linda Martinez; brother, Raul Martinez. Martina Martinez was born in Edinburg Texas, on February 14, 1966. Her parents were Marcelina Martinez and Roberto Martinez. She passed away on March 9, 2022 due to a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from La Joya High School and worked retail for numerous years. Later, her passion became providing assisted living services to the elderly. Martina Martinez is survived by her husband, Juan Manuel Rios; two sons Juan (Johnny) Rios and Jesse Rios; granddaughter, Amerie Rios; six siblings, Richard (Maggie) Martinez, Joaquin (Rosie)Martinez, Felix (Agustina) Mercado, Roberto Martinez Jr., Maria del Pilar Martinez and San Juanita Martinez; numerous nephews and nieces. Martina enjoyed playing slot machines, bingo, garage/pulga sales, visiting family and friends, but most important to her was the family. She was their warrior, hero and sounding board. Pallbearers: Roberto Martinez Jr, Richard Martinez, Jason Rios, Benjamin Rios, Joaquin Flores, Hugo Candia. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Gardens of Angels in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
