Obituary of Beatriz Rodriguez

Please share a memory of Beatriz to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beatriz Rodriguez, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife, age 84 of Edinburg, Texas rose to heaven on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Mcallen Medical Center, in the presence of her children.  Beatriz was born on Jan. 05, 1938 in Matehuala San Luis Potosi, Mexico and came to live in Edinburg at the age of 17.  Years later she met the love of her life and lifetime partner of 57 years.  The love they had for each other was like no other. Beatriz was predeceased by her son Javier and her husband Francisco who died 6 months prior to her death. She was a strong woman who was a true product of her times. She embodied the idea of a selfless spouse and mother who devoted her life and gave all of her love to her family. Beatriz stood by her man through the good times and the bad, and was a living example of the saying “Behind every successful man there stands a strong woman”.  She was fiercely devoted to her children, but especially so to her first born son Javiersito, whom she cared for his entire life.  Beatriz stood at just 4'11" tall, but was larger than life, with a mighty personality and a giant heart. A bit sweet, a bit prickly, with a lot of spice and sass. She rarely held back her opinion and had very few filters which made her unique in her own way.  Beatriz enjoyed shopping for bargains and could spend hours at department stores.  She had a well-developed sweet tooth, especially for pan dulce. She also had a love for gardening, flowers, cats and birds. She always cared and raised Lovebirds and owned an African Grey but the one that she most enjoyed was a parrot named Romeo that would yell "gordo" when her husband was trying to walk out the door inconspicuously.   Later in life when her children were grown she enjoyed collecting jewelry and put together quite a collection. She was always “Bien Mona” and loved bling, bling.        She is survived by her three children Dina Rodriguez-Trevino (Manuel), Alberto Rodriguez (Sandra), Liliana Rodriguez-Mancias (Javier); seven grandchildren, Manuel Trevino Jr. (Jessica), Mathew A. Trevino, Vianney B. Trevino, Zoe Rodriguez, Zaith Rodriguez, Zarina Rodriguez, Javier Mancias Jr.; great-grandchild, Elijah M. Trevino; three siblings, Romelia Charo, Socorro Jimenez and Guadalupe Jimenez.   While they are all deeply saddened by her passing, they are comforted by the knowledge that she is resting in peace alongside her precious son Javier “Javiersito” Rodriguez and her beloved husband Francisco Rodriguez.
