PHYLLIS R. HURST EDINBURG- Phyllis R. Hurst (Fifi), 58, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in Edinburg. Legacy Chapel of Edinburg is in charge of arrangements. Phyllis is preceded in death by her birth mom Mary Jane Thompson her parents, Glynn Hurst and Sybil Bird. Phyllis was born in Dupree South Dakota on February 24, 1963. She was an enrolled member of Standing Rock Nation. Phyllis served in the US Army in 1985-1988. Then came to live in the Rio Grande Valley and fell in love with the people and culture. Phyllis Hurst worked for UPS, FedEx, Swift transport and in 2019 decided to go back to College for her Kinesiology degree. She enjoyed being a student again. And, loved her professors and classmates. Phyllis Hurst is survived by her siblings, Michele Wolf Necklace, Norma Jean Tiokasin, Inez Morris, Bernalynn Tiokasin her cousins Pete and Kevin Hurst. She leaves behind her special fur babies Chanel, Benson, Frida and Maxx. A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg, TX.
