Obituary of Mario Martinez

MARIO MARTINEZ MCALLEN- Mario Martinez, 64, went to his eternal home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Friday, January 21, 2022 in McAllen. Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his father, Cruz Martinez Jasso; sister, Josefina Alvarado; brother-in-law, Alejandro Alvarado; brother-in-law, Antonio Frias. Mario was a kind hearted and excellent son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved quality family time, loved to go fishing and bbqing. Mario was always helping others in anyway that he could, he would give the shirt off of his back for others. Always giving his advice something his kids will forever cherish. Mr. Martinez was a well respected taxi driver for over 25 years. His taxi was his favorite hobby/job. He loved going to bingo with his significant other Deborah as well as his scratch off lottery tickets. He was a very respectful , hardworking and honest man. Mr. Martinez is survived by his companion, Deborah Palomo; three children, Patty (Carlos) Izaguirre, Linda (Michael) Alba and Mario Antonio Martinez; seven grandchildren, Samantha Izaguirre, Sabrina Izaguirre, Carlos Izaguirre Jr., Amanda Alba, Michael Alba Jr., Jeremiah Alba and Avah Alba; great-grandchild, Georgina Rivas; mother, Maria De La Luz Martinez Rosas; four siblings, Sabrina Frias, Juan Antonio Martinez, Ana Berta Espinosa and Leticia Perez; spouse, Herlinda Martinez Guerrero; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
