ABRAHAM "ABE" SAENZ SR. EDINBURG - Abraham "Abe" Saenz Sr., 51, passed away on January 11, 2022 in Pasco, Washington. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albino Saenz and Balbina Olivarez and maternal grandparents, Antonio and Otilia Ramos. Abraham "Abe" is survived by his parents, Reyes, Sr. and Gloria Saenz; his wife, Gracie Saenz; four children, Abraham Saenz Jr., Monica (Jacob) Garcia, Abigaiel Saenz, and Bernadette Saenz; three grandchildren, Devin Gonzalez, Jr., Kylie Rae Gonzalez, Patricia Grace Garcia and soon to be born grandson, Khalid Alfaro; his siblings, Reyes, Jr. (Selma) Saenz, Amabely (Carlos) Villescas, and Abel (Anabella) Saenz; numerous nieces and nephews. Abraham was born in Caldwell, Idaho. Throughout his life, he lived in Idaho, Texas, Oregon and Washington. He graduated from Hermiston High School in Oregon and attended The University of Texas Pan American. He joined the family trucking business and worked there for several years. He later set out on his own and successfully established his own trucking company as well as other businesses. He accomplished one of his latest dreams of becoming a disc jockey in Pasco, Washington playing Tejano Music. Abraham found so much enjoyment in classic cars. He owned a true treasure of a car gifted to him by his father at the young age of eleven – a 1964 Chevy Impala. Abe was a man of great faith and kindness. Abe loved sharing his Catholic faith with his children who were his pride and joy. He also, shared the faith with his family and friends. He served as a Catechist for a few years and participated in several A.C.T.S. retreats. He loved Christ with all his heart. “It is for you, beloved, to make your most holy faith the foundation of your lives, and to go on praying in the power of the Holy Spirit; to maintain yourselves in the love of God, and wait for the mercy our Lord Jesus Christ, with eternal life for your goal.” Jude 20-21 (Knox Version Catholic Bible) Abraham "Abe" will forever be loved and remembered. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 505 S Ironwood St. in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Jesus Mora Saenz, Joshua Mora Saenz, Damian Villescas, Adrian Mendoza, Izaac Mendoza and Jacob Garcia. Honorary pallbearer will be Abel Saenz, Jr. Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
