Obituary of Teodoro Gonzalez

On Sunday, January 2, 2022, Teodoro de la Garza Gonzalez, from Edinburg, Texas, passed away at age 88. Teodoro was born in Donna, Texas on November 18, 1933 to Carolina De la Garza and Fausto Gonzalez. Equipped with only a third-grade education, his common sense and a strong work ethic in this world, Teodoro did his best to raise his kids and provide as the head of household. He regaled his relatives with his unique style of storytelling and could be easily found spreading laughter through his funny anecdotes. When Teodoro was not reading about outlaws, gunslingers, and lawmen, he was watching them on the television. Teodoro was also a kind childlike soul who had a fondness for animals. He appreciated the simple things in life, like taking in the beauty of the outside while sitting under the shade of a tree, savoring his favorite sweets. Teodoro was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings; and his son. He is survived by his wife, Maria del Rosario Gonzalez; his children, Tiodoro Danny Gonzalez, Teodoro Gonzalez Jr., Dalia Margo, Maria Sylvia Mahan, Rolando Gonzalez, Eduardo Gonzalez, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Maria Isabel Vargas, Gilberto Vargas, Jaime Vargas, Ruby Esparza, Sandra Marisol Gonzalez, and Jose Alfredo Gonzalez. He left his legacy behind in his great-great grandchildren, great-grandchildren and grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life service on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
