Catalina Martinez Garcia,98, entered eternal rest Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the McAllen Medical Hospital. Catalina was born March 22, 1920 in Xilitta,San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Francisco and Elena Martinez Garcia. Catalina was a long time resident of Edinburg. She had a passion teaching children to read and write. She enjoyed dancing, and painting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Her son Jorge Salvador Orizaga Martinez, Her Sister Zenaida.
Catalina is survived by her children; Dr. Javier Francisco Orizaga Martinez (Maria Guadalupe), Her daughter- Alba Elena Tinsman de Quiroz (Ezequiel); Five grandchildren- Rosalba (Eduardo), Jocelyn (Sergio), Javier and Katia Orizaga and Steve Tinsman; 3 great grandchildren;
7 stepchildren-Hector Orizaga Amezcua,Dr. Gustavo Orizaga Amezcua (Magdalena), Zoila Berenice Orizaga de Posselt, Marco Antonio Orizaga Guerra, Marylupe Orizaga Guerra, Maria Antonieta Orizaga Guerra(Eusebio), Jose Guadalupe Orizaga Guerra (Yadira); 24 step grandchildren all from Mexico.
Visitation will be Sunday December 12, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a 7:00 pm rosary at Legacy Chapels,4610 S.Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will Monday, December 13, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church in Edinburg at 1:00pm
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Legacy Chapels of Edinburg
