ANTONIO MUNOZ
McAllen - Antonio "Tony" Munoz, 62, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 after his courageous battle with stomach cancer.
Tony was born to Cipriano and Consuelo Munoz on August 2, 1952, in Brownsville, Texas. He lived most of his life in the Pharr/McAllen area. He retired from the U.S Postal Service in 2007. He was most recently employed by McAllen ISD at Garza Elementary.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Cipriano and Consuelo Munoz of Brownsville, and his sister, Gracie Jimenez of San Antonio. He is survived by his wife, Blanca Munoz, and his seven children and step-children: Celeste Munoz (Edinburg, TX), Tony Munoz (Katy, TX), Suzanne Munoz (McAllen, TX), Yesenia Romero (McAllen, TX), Ruby Romero (McAllen, TX), Elsie Romero (McAllen, TX), and Pete Romero (McAllen, TX). He is also survived by his siblings, Eddie Munoz, Cipriano Munoz, Ralph Munoz, George Munoz, Consuelo Mari Munoz, Enrique Munoz, Maggie Flores, Marta Munoz, Gabriel Munoz and Alicia Russell.
Funeral mass will be at 11 am Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in McAllen. Immediately following the mass a reception will be held at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for the Cipriano and Consuelo Munoz Scholarship Fund at The University of Texas - Pan American.
