Obituary of Imelda Palacios

IMELDA PALACIOS MCALLEN – Imelda Palacios, 65, beloved by many, entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 25, 2021, in Edinburg with her family at her side. Mrs. Palacios was a loving and supportive mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to several, near and far. She was a wonderful cook, loved to dance, and was the most caring person; she never failed to lend a helping hand. Mrs. Palacios will be deeply missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan G. and Amelia A. Palacios. Mrs. Palacios is survived by her husband, Miguel Herrera Vega; her two children, Adrian Guerra, and Amelia I. “Mia” Guerra; her three grandchildren, Fabian, Alyssa Q., and Adrian Q. Guerra; and her four siblings, Anita Mora (Ruben Perez), Juan G. Palacios (Maria), Hector M. Palacios (Lupita), and Oscar Palacios (Maggie). Mrs. Palacios has 11 nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Legacy Chapel, 4610 South Jackson Road, in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at El Divino Redentor United Methodist Church, 2421 W. Maple Ave., in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
