Obituary of Laura Isela Santoy

Mission, Texas Laura Isela Santoy,45, entered eternal sleep on July 11, 2021 at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Laura was born November 23, 1975 to Jose S. Santoy and Maria Guadalupe Santoy. Laura Isela Santoy, known to everyone as Lori, had a heart of gold. Her loving, giving, respectful, and loyal personality was visible to anyone that came across her. Lori was best known as the jokester in the family. She took great pleasure trying to make people laugh, despite any personal turmoil she might have been going through. Her goal was to make you laugh and although she told the corniest jokes, you would laugh just hearing her contagious laugh. Lori was beyond grateful for the opportunity she was given of working at the Law Office of Chris Sanchez. The knowledge she gained from Chris was something she took great pride in. She also had a true best friend in his mom. Mrs. Eunice Sanchez loved Lori as one of her own and the feeling was reciprocated. The one trait that mostly defines Lori is the unconditional love she had for her children. There wasn’t a conversation you could have with Lori without her mentioning how proud she was of her very smart, accomplished, and beautiful daughter Averi (AJ), and how amazed and proud she was of her smart, athletic, and funny boy Jaden. Lori was loved by many and will be missed dearly. The amount of laughter she brought in to this world will forever be engraved in her family’s hearts and the beautiful memories she left will be treasured wholeheartedly and eternally. Laura was preceded in death by her mother-Maria Guadalupe Santoy. Laura is survived by her beloved family; Her children- Averi J. Castaneda, Jaden R. Castaneda; Her Siblings- Maggie and (Arnold) Guerrero, Joe S. Jr. and (Rachel) Santoy, Miriam P. Santoy, David and (Peggy) Santoy; Her Father- Jose S. Santoy. No local services were held. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the future. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Legacy Funerals in Edinburg.
