OLGA RODRIGUEZ BASTROP/MCALLEN - It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the loss of our dear Olga Rodriguez, 68, from Bastrop and retired registered nurse. She went to be with our Lord in the afternoon of Friday, July 2, 2021. She was born on July 1, 1953 to Ninfa Rodriguez and the late Enrique D. Rodriguez in McAllen, Texas. Olga was a pillar of her community throughout her life. Her contributions include service to anyone in need by helping the homeless, volunteering of her time to feed the hungry and serving at her church, and inviting people into her home to care for them, all while working full time. Olga last worked in Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Mission Hospital, El Paso Texas traveling nurse and loved saving lives in ICU. Ms. Rodriguez is survived by two daughters, Delilah Ruiz, and Linda Mery; her mother, Ninfa Rodriguez; three sisters, Gloria Echavarria, Beulah Garcia, and Maria Magdalena Acevedo; five brothers, Eulalio, Enrique, Noe, Joel and Samuel Rodriguez; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. with a 1 p.m. chapel service, Friday, July 9, 2021, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
