Victoria Amner Garcia passed away on June 21, 2021. This was also her 61st birthday. Victoria lived in Edinburg, Texas.
Victoria is survived by her daughter: Victoria Annette Skurka (Joseph Salazar, son-in-law) of Edinburg; grandson: Liam Michael Salazar, step-grandson: Aidan Salazar, sisters: Josefa Garcia-Mitchell (Paul Mitchel, brother-in-law) of Edinburg, Gloria Garcia of Edinburg, Ricarda Garcia (Adnane Khalil, brother-in-law) of Greenville, South Carolina and Kayleigh Garcia of Mcallen, Texas and one brother, Cesar Garica (Becky Garcia, sister-in-law) of Conyers, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her brother Michael Angel Garica and parents, Reynaldo and Rosaura Garcia.
Victoria was born in Camargo, Tamaulipas, MX. Her parents moved her and her siblings to the US when Victoria was 4 four year old. Victoria graduated from Mission High School and Pan American University. She was an English Teacher and taught for 29 years. She retired from teaching in 2014 when she was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Victoria was Teacher of the Year for ECISD and won a Michael Jordan grant for her students.
Victoria was an advocate for her students and loved her profession. Victoria loved animals. She was an avid reader and history was her true passion.
The Garcia family is hosting a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on June 26, 2021 Legacy Chapels. Chapel is open from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Prayer service and eulogy is from 6:00 - 7:00pm.
