Obituary of Israel Hernandez

ISRAEL "RILEY" HERNANDEZ EDINBURG - Israel "Riley" Hernandez, 78, entered eternal rest Friday, December 25, 2020, in Edinburg. Mr. Hernandez was preceded in death by his daughter, Raquel Hernandez; his parents, Librado and Maria De Jesus Hernandez; three brothers, Humberto, Hermino, and Roberto Hernandez. During his early years, he worked at Texaco where his passion for working on vehicles including his 1976 and 1983 F150 began. Later, he finished his career at Tropical Texas MHMR where he developed a passion for helping others with special needs. During his retirement, he enjoyed his remaining years making memories with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Hernandez is survived by his six children, Rolando (Cris) Hernandez, Edward (Frances) Hernandez, Alicia Alaniz, Robert Hernandez, Yvette (David) Delgado, and Israel (Sara) Hernandez Jr.; 15 grandchildren; his sister, Mary Garza; his brother, Alfonso Hernandez; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary, Sunday, January 3, 2021, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2021, at St. Jospeh Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
