ELVIA P. CANO EDINBURG – Elvia P. Cano, 79, went home to the Lord Thursday, December 24, 2020, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Alamo, Elvia lived in Edinburg for most of her life and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Cano; two sons, Pedro Cano Jr., Arturo Cano; and her mother, Emma Diaz. Elvia is survived by eight children, Maria L. (Rodolfo) Garza, Cesar Cano, Carlos Cano, Ernesto (Yadira) Cano, all of Edinburg, Enrique Cano of McAllen, Alicia (Ramon Romo) Cano, Patricia (Orlando) Vera, Leticia (Guadalupe Renteria) Cano, all of Edinburg; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her father, Simon Pedraza of Ohio; and numerous siblings. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
