When I was a little girl I couldn’t pronounce Tony, I said Toy instead. That’s how my Uncle Toy got the nickname that my mom and sister use. Uncle Toy and my mom were very close growing up being the younger two siblings and even into adulthood, and I’ve heard lots of stories about my gentle giant uncle. He helped be a father figure in my life and I will always be grateful for that. Uncle Toy was a good, loving man. He taught me so much, especially how to find happiness in the little things. He was the best uncle anyone could ask for. Rest easy Uncle Toy. Give hugs & kisses to mom, grandparents, and Uncle Albert for me.

Uncle “Toy” was such a gentle, loving, super-cool, would always be there for his family kind of man. I have so many wonderful memories of growing up riding around in his VW Beetle as a kid. Listening to his music selection on his 8-track. His groovy Sci-Fi posters, us looking through his OMNI magazines. Going to the planetarium at San Antonio College. Watching old Star Trek TV shows...and admiring his beautiful drawings. I still cannot believe it, but I hope Uncle Toy has found his way to meet up with his parents, my mom, and his older brother. He missed them so, and I pray they are all united. ❤️ I love you Uncle Toy, Mariela and Aunt Letty. ~Ursula
